The one thing about Russell is that he is outwitting and outplaying the field. I hate him, but you know, I think he really is the only one who deserves to win. I have watched every season of this show. In fact, I was ticked when I had my heart su...

If ever there was a show that permeated pop culture, Survivor is it. Love it? Hate it? Discuss it here.

Ian replied to Ian's discussion 'Oh What Fun!' in the group Survivor
I've been loving this season. It always surprises me that players seem to ignore the biggest threats until it's too late. Tonight, I think Laura was singled out not only because she was threat, but also because she had no problem sending Shambo of...

I can't remember but I'm pretty sure the Nook does PDF. With the Kindle you can email yourself the docs for a small fee or you can hook up a cable to your computer and DL them that way. Agent Nathan Brandsford uses it that way a lot according to h...

I had no idea that the Kindle could convert my manuscripts for consumption. Thanks Firewolf! Does the Nook read PDF files though. If so, it's an easy conversion from Word. Then I'd go with the Nook. Hey, there's a sale on the e-bookwise 1150 e-rea...

You know, the great thing about pop culture is that even in smaller numbers one can say it exists. I know we often reference it as having to pertain to or of the masses but your examples may throw a monkey wrench into that thought. Like Heroes. I...

Based on the stats that B&N posted about the Nook, I'd buy it over the Kindle except for one thing. Kindle supports word documents and Nook doesn't. Being a writer, that's a deal breaker. Guess I'll just have to wait a while longer.

Barnes and Noble Launch 'Nook' 3 Replies

Is the B&N's new ebook reader, the Nook, really a Kindle killer? Industry insiders have been estimating ebook sales to reach 3M in 2010 and will double the following year. That may sound impres...

How am I supposed to keep up? How am I supposed to keep everything straight in my head and figure everything out?

First there was MySpace. Now, MySpace is just plain difficult. It is! I can’t figure it out. I don’t know how to update. Someone set my MySpace up for me, but they’ve been gone (um, not in the ultimate sense, mind you, just not around the old cyber space any longer) and I don’t know how to do anything on it! I was very proud of my MySpace at one point because I thought I had… Continue

By Ian O’Neill

On a recent shopping trip to the grocery store my wife asked me to go grab a pack of toilet paper. “Whatever you think is best.” I started walking and checking the store signage over each aisle looking for one housing the bathroom tissue and the only thing going through my head was, “Don’t squeeze the Charmin.” I found the aisle and the first thing I grabbed was an eight pack of the Charmin which I promptly squeezed. I trudged back to my wife and put the Charmin in our cart.

I w… Continue

I've gotta say, I really enjoy Nora Roberts' books. Even when I find the subject matter disturbing, such as Eve Dallas's flashbacks in Roberts' alter-ego's In Death series or the horror of certain scenes in Blue Smoke, her writing is exquisite. My favorite Roberts books include The Reef, Hon… Continue
